I worked at GML (George Massenburg Labs) doing research & development
from 1977 to 1991, when Barbara & I moved to Kauai. During that time we built
The Complex
Studios in W. Los Angeles... recording studios, stages and record company offices, and I
served as staff engineer there for 8 years. During those same years I worked
with George developing and manufacturing the GML parametric equalizer, mic pre,
compressor, moving fader automation, and portable console series. We designed & built
recording consoles for The Complex, a custom stage monitor console, and a large
sound system that incorporated early GML designs.
